Routes, paths and bridges are maintained at the excursion destinations managed by Metsähallitus, as well as rest areas and camping areas with toilets, parking areas and beach landings. The destinations also have guidance structures such as signs and capes. Metsähallitus Nature Services is responsible for free service equipment for hikers in protected areas and historical sites. Contract entrepreneurs are responsible for paid services at nature shelters and camping centers, etc.

Organizing events and camping in areas managed by Metsähallitus
Events planned in Metsähallitus nature reserves or multi-use forests and large groups camping must be reported to Metsähallitus. An event notification must always be made if the event organizer relies on the camping service equipment and routes maintained by Metsähallitus and collects participation or entrance fees.
