Old Park Ranger Hut

The park ranger's Hut, as its name suggests, was originally built as a park ranger's home. The house was built in the early 60s and is generally in its original condition. The cabin only has wood heating, please note that it takes time for the cabin to warm up. Please read the following carefully:

• No winter maintenance. The cabin is usually available for rent from mid-May to October-November, i.e. until the little Kuikkalampi- pond freezes over, and there is enough snow that you can no longer get to the cabin by car. • From the beginning of October, a pre-heating supplement of €150 will be added to the price of the cabin. For safety reasons, preheating is always handled by Petkeljärvi Center. Additional heating is provided by the tenant.
• The house's kitchen has a wood-burning stove with a small baking oven, a 2-plate electric hob, a microwave, a coffee maker and a kettle. Dishes and cooking utensils. Refrigerator with freezer compartment. The washing water is carried to the Pini Kuikkalampi- pond and heated either in the sauna's wood-fired water boiler or in a pot with a wood or electric stove in the kitchen.
• Drinking water is brought with you or you take a water container with you when you pick up the key
• Two bedrooms. One has a bunk bed and a bed, bed sizes 80 x 200 cm, and the other room has a double bed 160 x 200 cm and a bed 80 x 200 cm. The beds have mattresses, replacement mattresses, blankets and pillows. No sheets. Both rooms have their own wood-burning oven. A diningroom that can seat almost 20 people at the dining table. Large fireplace.
• No TV, radio or WiFi
• Mobile phone coverage is poor in places.
• Traditional outdoor toilet in the courtyard building.
• Own traditional wood-heated sauna on the shore of the clear little Kuikkalami lake. The sauna building has a dressing room with a fireplace and washing is done using wash basins in the sauna room. The washing water is carried from Pieni Kuikkalampi-pond with a bucket.
• 2 bunk beds in the shed, possibility of an extra bed for four. Mattresses in the beds. Note Additional beds must be reserved separately on the reservation form. Price 10€/person/day, minimum stay 2 days. In addition,
• it is possible to reserve a place for a motorhome, - wagon or tent in the cottage yard.
• Holding parties or inviting guests without separate agreement is prohibited.
• The price includes 1 bag (about 60L) of birch logs, which in summer is enough to heat the sauna and water for a 2-day stay. For longer reservations, the amount of firewood in summer is increased in proportion to the duration of the reservation.
• In the cool/cold season, you can buy more heating wood when booking.
