Petkeljärvi National Park is a nature reserve intended as a public attraction, whose mission is to preserve the North Karelian ridge and lake nature. It is important that you familiarize yourself with the area in advance and prepare for the trip by carefully reading the area's instructions and rules. Hiking in Petkeljärvi National Park is guided by the rules. So, we act and move in nature respecting them. Please do not share content online that violates the rules of the national park.
Keeping pets free is prohibited. Pets are welcome in the national park, but only on a leash.
The hiking center and camping area are located in Ilomantsi in Petraniemi, in the middle of Petkeljärvi National Park, at the end of Petkeljärventie. The hiking center has a caravan and camping area, as well as accommodation rooms in the main building.
Hiking center services; The café-nature hut, accommodation building, Park Ranger's Lodge and camping area with its services are open from early May to mid-October. You can find the exact opening hours at https://petkeljarvi.com/palvelut.
